Bayesian Estimation of the Parameters of the Burr Distribution with Progressively Censored Data
Based on progressively censored type I data, the posterior means, variances and covariance of the two (unknown) parameters of the Burr type XII distribution and its reliability and failure rate functions are obtained using approximate forms due to Lindley (1980) and Tierney et al (1986). Also Credible and shortest credible intervals for the parameters of a Burr type XII distribution are obtained using the approximate marginal posterior density form due to Tierney et al (1986). A numerical illustration for these new results is also given.
