The purpose of this article is to introduce some definitions of inter- est. in reliability theory and to study several preservation properties of stochastic comparisons of values in economics, decision support systems, operations research, life distributions of systems or components, and re- liability engineering. The comparisons are based on the usual stochastic order, reversed hazard rate order, and the mean inactivity time ordering, under the reliability operations of mixtures. Characterizations and relationships with the other well-known partial orders are established.
