The information gathered about the life of a component or an equipment that has been in use for a sufficiently long time is of interest to reliability engineers. In this paper we introduce and study the properties of some families that simulate many of practical situations. We examine closure properties of these families under commonly occurring statistical operations such as convolutions and mixtures.
