Characterization Via the Conditional Variance of Linear Exponential and Truncated Linear Exponential Distributions
We use the mean residual life function in connection with the conditional variance to characterize the linear exponential and the truncated linear exponential distributions using the k-th record values. A characterization of the rayleigh and truncated rayleigh distributions as well as exponential and truncated exponential distributions follow as special cases.
