This paper discusses the power of the score test for homogeneity or equality of normal means with two alternative order restrictions, the simple ordering and the umbrella ordering (unimodal). The power of the score test was studied using the pool adjacent violators algorithm (PAVA). Simulation has been used to compare the behavior of the power for different situations.
